Stirling, UK : March 4th, 2013 - Mortara Instrument, Inc. announced today the worldwide release of its latest resting electrocardiograph, the ELI™ 280. The new ELI 280 combines advanced ECG processing with an intuitive interface, enabling clinician's optimised efficiency in their acquisition of routine diagnostic ECGs.

ELI-280-on-Cart

Featuring a 10-inch tablet-style display with state-of-the-art touch technology, this innovative electrocardiograph is specifically positioned to deliver exceptional performance and ease-of-use to healthcare professionals in both clinics and acute care settings. The convenient onscreen keyboard features dedicated, coloured keys for basic operations, making common tasks easier to perform and helping to streamline procedures.  As with other Mortara electrocardiographs, the ELI 280 uses DICOM® for standards-based data exchange with vendor-neutral clinical information systems.  DICOM Modality Worklist (MWL) retrieves location-specific orders and schedules, simplifying workflow and speeding patient care.  Acquired ECGs are then stored as discrete DICOM waveforms, fuelling the clinical information systems' advanced reporting solutions and automatic charge posting.

'Mortara Instrument continues to expand its reach in diagnostic cardiology with the introduction of the ELI 280,' commented Dr. Justin Mortara, Chief Executive Officer.  'This newest addition to our range of electrocardiograph offerings is explicitly designed for those that identify touchscreen as their user interface method of choice.'

Like all product solutions in the ELI line, the ELI 280 features Mortara's renowned VERITAS™ resting ECG interpretation algorithm which performs both adult and pediatric interpretation.  The ELI 280 supports an array of bidirectional communication options including internal modem, LAN and wireless LAN.  The ELI 280 also includes Mortara's signature Best 10 feature and optional wireless ECG acquisition module, the WAM™.  With Best 10, the electrocardiograph automatically selects and displays the best 10 seconds of ECG from memory, reducing the need for repeat ECGs due to patient movement or other sources of ECG artefact. With the WAM wireless ECG acquisition option, clinicians can enjoy the convenience and ease of working free from a direct patient connection back to the electrocardiograph.
